Portfolio Design
After experimenting with hotglue, I began to plan and implament my portfolio. I had to think carefully about layout, content, design and navigation to make sure my portfolio served all of its purposes well.
The first stage of planning was to note down the different aspects of how I wanted my portfolio to function. This included defining the scope, content, functionality and skeleton.
For the scope, I had to decide who the site was for and where it worked. At this point, I decided I had to ensure that the portfolio would be presentable and function correctly on any platfom and in any browser. One of the simplest ways that I could thing of doing this was making the website scroll from left to right rather than the traditional top to bottom.
I then decided what pages I would need in the "content" section of my planning and how the portfolio would function in the functionality section.
I then thought more about the sideways style in the "skeleton section and moved on to basic wireframing.
The first wireframe I did was for the opening "splash screen" that would appear. I decided I wanted a front page with a logo that represented myself on a background. I wanted this splash screen to always center on any browser and any device, which would be easy to do using some basic CSS. I then thought that it may not be clear what to do on this screen, which led me to deciding between an "enter" button or a message appearing by the cursor telling the user to click the screen to enter. I chose the cursor message as it is easy to implament and looks a lot neater.

I then planned the basic outline of my home page as seen on the left.

I then did a basic site plan using a flow diagram (right) to decide what pages I would need and how they would link together. I then began to implament the plans, this can be seen here.
